My latest thoughts about ...
Bye Bye Black Sheet

A Newtonian fluid from Naphtha

Was gelled by a soap called Alassca

No moly, no graphite

Not black,

Rather off-white,

Gears, they ran great

Ever after.

Go(w) with the flo(w)

A greaseman from Drizzle named John,

Went home whilst the pumps were still on,

Oil poured down the road,

To the Mersey, it flowed,

And the scrubbing went on until dawn.

120 years young

October 31st, 1888

Oh what a very special date

A day when AXEL came to be

An entrepreneur for all to see

And now for 120 years

Bearings, bushings, couplings and gears

Are running smoothly with axle (Axel) grease

Giving engineers peace

Of mind

And substantial rewards of an economic kind.

So happy birthday Axel C

Be proud of us, your legacy.

With apologies to William McGonagall, the worst poet of all time

Grease for Dummies

In our plants we make soaps every day

To thicken our grease the right way

As a good illustration

Of the structure foundation

A sponge is the perfect display

Stories seldom told

The strangest stories seldom told

.. include a grease, acrylic mould

To land at sea, a canopy

.. must offer full transparency

If not, alas, our pilots bold

.. will crash in waters dark and cold

To check the grease is flowing free

.. we had to use rheology

Consistency is far too old

.. knowledge worth its weight in gold.

The strangest stories ever told

.. include a grease, acrylic mould,

.. worth it's price a hundred fold.
