For each minute in cardiac arrest, the chance of survival goes down approximately 10% without CPR and defibrillation. After 10 minutes survival is unlikely. OSHA backs up these statistics by requiring businesses, where accidents resulting in suffocation, severe bleeding, or other life-threatening injury or illness can reasonably be expected, a 3-to-4-minute response time, from time of injury to time of administering first aid.

AXEL, committed to the health and safety of its employees, contractors, and visitors ensures fully stocked first aid kits and bloodborne pathogen kits are installed in strategic locations in each plant as well as ZOLL AEDs (Automatic External Defibrillators). Inspection of these critical emergency response items is completed at least monthly.

While we can never anticipate an emergency,  AXEL first responders have been trained and are ready to respond to a multitude of injuries and illnesses without delay. By the end of 2021 AXEL will have doubled its trained first responder list.
