In steel manufacturing the continuous caster provides quite a challenge for lubricant formulators. The bearings supporting the hot steel material needs to handle both high and shock load conditions, vibrations, high temperatures and/or water from cooling. The demands on the grease are therefore high too, so in order to provide sufficient lubrication the proper grease technology has to be selected.

REACH Registration Completed

The REACH Legislation, Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, entered into force on June 1st 2007. The 10-year registration period for existing chemicals is now complete following the last REACH registration deadline on May 31st 2018 for substances, manufactured 1-100 tonne a year.

Hello, my name is Eric van der Horst. I recently started as General Manager at AXEL Christiernsson in the Netherlands. I have had different leadership positions in several international companies including plastic composites manufacturer Voestalpine Polynorm, Polytec (both Austrian), Drum manufacturer Greif (US) and plastic packaging manufacturer Precise Technology (US- later sold to Rexam -UK). I started my career at Manuli (rubber hose assemblies for automotive) after military duty and studying mechanical engineering. I have worked in the Netherlands, Germany and Spain and have extensive experience in the automotive supplier sector.
